NBLU 2010 splash3

BSHS LMC is once again participating in the South Carolina State Department of Education’s No Book Left Unread Summer Reading Challenge.

This year we are counting minutes read rather than pages and we challenge you to read and record 1000 minutes this summer. The program runs from June 1st through August 31st and you have until Sept. 7th to get your Reading Logs to Mrs. Bullington in the media center..

What reading materials count for the challenge? Books (obviously), newspapers, magazines, online articles and blog posts. Keep in mind that the reading material must be composed of at least 50% text in order to qualify. Read emails? Those would count. Read fan fiction? That would count.

You can pick up Reading Logs in the school’s main office or download it from here and print it out.

The student and staff member who read and record the most minutes at BSHS will each win a $25.00 Barnes and Noble gift card.  So start reading and recording those minutes!
